We continue to make progress on the initiatives and programs we started in 2023. To better understand our potential impact on the climate, we engaged a third-party to identify the top climate-related risks and opportunities to WBD and their potential impacts on the Company’s operations, infrastructure, and supply chain. During 2024, we enhanced our capabilities to track more robust greenhouse gas (GHG) emission datasets and ensure thorough validation processes through the implementation of a technology platform. This will also help ensure we are aligned with future climate-related disclosure requirements. As part of our commitment to reduce operational emissions, we continue to identify opportunities and implement initiatives to create sustainable workplaces and productions.
Looking forward, we remain focused on improving our ability to measure and report enterprise-level GHG emissions by leveraging new technology, identifying additional emissions-reduction levers we can pursue to potentially reduce our emissions, and developing a roadmap to ensure we can deliver on our commitments. Our ability to accurately inventory our GHG emissions across our global operations and value chain and understand our climate-related risks supports our ongoing evaluation of enterprise-level GHG emissions reduction targets, such as science-based targets.
Reducing Our GHG Footprint
We believe efforts to reduce emissions are important to the ongoing success of our business as a leading global media and entertainment company. We continue to identify opportunities and implement initiatives to create sustainable workplaces and productions because that is where we believe they will be most effective. In 2024, we focused our efforts on reducing emissions across our operations and value chain, including increasing operational energy efficiency and investing in and utilizing existing renewable energy projects such as solar. Additionally, as part of our sustainable productions’ focus, we utilize carbon credits, where appropriate, to offset emissions.1
